Do I need to complete security training to work at sea?
Yes. As part of the Manilla amendments 2010 all seafarers are required to complete security training. The level of training depends on their specific role.
Which course do I need to complete?
(PSA) Proficiency in Security Awareness: Must be undertaken by ALL above not holding a
Designated Security duty on board. This includes Stewards, galley staff, entertainment staff, Pilots, etc.
(PDSD) Proficiency in Designated Security Duties: Must be undertaken by any crew who have designated duties under the Ship Security Plan. Gangway watches, stowaway searches, baggage searches, etc..
