This GWO Fire Awareness Refresher course ensures your skills and knowledge remain up-to-date, equipping you to prevent, assess, and combat fires effectively. This course covers the same content, duration, and learning objectives as the initial BST Fire Awareness module.

Course Overview:

This module focuses on empowering participants to prevent fires, make sound judgements when evaluating fire situations, manage personnel evacuation, and ensure everyone’s safety in the event of an uncontrollable fire. When safe to do so, participants will also learn how to efficiently extinguish incipient fires using basic handheld firefighting equipment.

Key Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Fire Prevention: Independently identify fire hazards and implement preventative measures within a renewables environment.
2. Fire Assessment & Extinguishment: Take responsibility for assessing a fire and, if necessary, select the appropriate extinguishing media based on fire classifications.
3. Evacuation Procedures: Take charge of personnel evacuation and ensure everyone is safely accounted for during an unmanageable fire.
4. Initial Firefighting: Independently and efficiently extinguish an initial fire using basic handheld firefighting equipment, provided the situation is deemed safe.
