Description

This course is designed for seafarers with designated security duties on board a vessel.

You will learn how to maintain the security conditions outlined in a Ship Security Plan (SSP) and effectively respond to a wide range of security risks and threats. The training is essential for ensuring the safety of the crew, vessel, and cargo, in accordance with international standards.

What You'll Learn

This module provides both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to perform your security duties with confidence. You will cover:

  • Security Plans and Procedures: Understand the ISPS Code and how to implement and maintain a vessel's Ship Security Plan.

  • Threat Recognition: Learn to identify and recognize security risks and threats, including maritime piracy, stowaways, refugees, and bomb threats.

  • Security Equipment: Gain proficiency in the proper use of on-board security equipment and systems.

  • Security Inspections: Master the process of undertaking regular security inspections to ensure compliance and readiness.

  • Emergency Response: Develop the ability to execute security contingencies and respond effectively to security incidents.
