Description
This comprehensive course equips individuals with the essential, life-saving skills needed to respond effectively to medical emergencies within the unique and challenging environment of a wind turbine.
You'll gain both the knowledge and practical expertise to recognise life-threatening situations and administer crucial first aid until professional medical help arrives. The training is specifically tailored to the wind turbine industry, focusing on the specific risks and scenarios you might encounter.
What You'll Learn
This module goes beyond basic first aid, providing you with the confidence to act decisively and independently in an emergency. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on, realistic simulations, you will learn to:
-
Assess and Prioritise: Accurately recognise and prioritise the need for first aid in a wind turbine environment, quickly identifying the most critical issues.
-
Provide Critical Care: Administer life-saving first aid, from managing severe bleeding and fractures to addressing shock and unconsciousness, ensuring the casualty is stable until they can be handed over to professional care.
-
Call for Help: Understand the correct procedures for effectively communicating with emergency services and enabling the safe evacuation of a casualty from a WTG.
-
Know Your Limits: Gain a clear understanding of your role as a first aider and when to escalate the situation for advanced medical assistance.

This BST First Aid Module is considered essential for anyone working in the wind turbine industry. By empowering you with vital first aid skills, this course not only prepares you to handle critical situations but also contributes to a safer, more prepared working environment for everyone.
