The Company Security Officers Course is also referred to as the CSO course. It is MCA approved and lasts for four days, requires no previous experience and enables you to carry out the duties as laid down in the International Ship and Port Facility Code (ISPS) of the Company Security Officer.
A blend of Theory, case studies and practical scenarios equip you with the knowledge of Ship Security Assessment (SSA) procedures, compilation and maintaining the Ship Security Plan (SSP), Current threats, Security levels and staffing requirements to counter Terrorism, Piracy and common criminality.
1: Requirements for ship security and the roles and responsibilities of organisations and individuals involved in it.
2: Ability to assess risk, threat and vulnerability to the ship, its personnel, cargo and operations.
3: Capabilities and limitations of security methods, equipment and systems.
4: How to create a ship security plan and related regulatory requirements and can ensure implementation.
5: Determine the effectiveness of current security arrangements, procedures and equipment.
6: Understanding how to promote security awareness and vigilance on board ship.
