Description

This comprehensive GWO Fire Awareness Module equips you with the essential skills to prevent, assess, and respond to fire incidents within a wind turbine environment. Through crucial training, this course empowers participants to proactively prevent fires, make sound judgments when assessing fire situations, manage safe evacuations, and effectively extinguish initial fires using basic handheld firefighting equipment when it is safe to do so.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

• Identify and Mitigate Hazards: Independently recognize and address potential fire hazards specific to a wind turbine environment, fostering a proactive approach to safety.

• Rapid Fire Assessment: Develop the ability to quickly assess fire situations and select the correct extinguishing media based on different fire classes.

• Effective Evacuation Management: Take responsibility for the safe evacuation of personnel and ensure everyone is accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire.

• Confident Fire Extinguishing: Independently and efficiently extinguish initial fires using basic handheld equipment, when it's safe to do so.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for attending the GWO Basic Safety Training Course, however, participants must be at least 18 years old and in good physical health. WINDA Registration – Register with WINDA (the Global Wind Organisation training database) before starting the course
